When God said:
“Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground” ( Genesis 1:26)
he did not mean that we should use our liberty to destroy the land or the living things upon it.
Once upon a time, Africa had thousands of elephants and rhinos. Now there are approximately 600 elephants left in all of Africa. Six Hundred! How can that be? What happened? You and I happened. Every time we buy a piece of jewelry made of ivory, we have contributed to the death of an elephant.
Please view the video below that I’ve entitled “Saving Our Elephants” and start making plans to halt your purchase of ivory. This video was created by “Animal Planet” and there are many more on their website. Keep in mind that if there are no buyers for ivory then there is no need for the continued slaughter of these precious animals.
Using our freedom to brutally slaughter these animals was not in God’s plan when he gave us dominion over them. Though China is the largest consumer of ivory, America is right behind them.
Let’s stop buying anything made of ivory so we can save these precious animals from distinction.
TOGETHER we can stop this massacre!
